Default OpenSSH won't install properly...missing opensll header

Hey everyone I was trying to install openSSH on my computer and when I ran ./configure eventually came to this error:

    checking for openssl/opensslv.h... no
configure: error: *** OpenSSL headers missing - please install first or check config.log ***

I would really appreciate any help you guys could give. Thank you.

Why are you installing from source? openSUSE provides an openssh package already.

    -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
    Hash: SHA1

Usually it's also installed by default unless you chose otherwise. Start
    the server with the following:

    sudo /etc/init.d/sshd start

and set to start at bootup with the following:

    sudo /sbin/chkconfig sshd on

Open the default SSH port via Yast if needed:

    sudo /sbin/yast firewall

And the 'ssh' client is in your path by default if you want to access a
    remote system.

    Good luck.

Okay I just tried to run the commands you mentioned, and it wouldn't start...I then tracked down the file in Dolphin file viewer...and tried to get it to start using the GUI, and that iddin't work either.

YaST > System > System services (runlevel). Search for SSH in the list and switch it on. YaST has a lot of solutions for non-CLI lovers.
