Default openSuSE 11.2 IPv6 autoconfiguration problems

    Hello!

I have a 6over4 tunnel from HE on a site and a FritzBox 7270 router. On the LAN there is a 2008R2 server, which has no problems with IPv6 autoconfiguration (Teredo is turned off). A traceroute shows a correct path to one of our servers:
    Code:
    C:\>tracert www.selfnet.at

Routenverfolgung zu www.selfnet.at [2001:67c:2074::66:94] ber maximal 30 Abschnitte:

XP machines with IPv6 enabled also receive v6 IPs in the local prefix.

Also there are two openSuSE 11.2 machines in the same LAN which have IPv6 enabled. They, however, receive no IPv6 address in the local prefix 2001:470:1f0b:1d43::/64 but only have the default link-local address fe80::something. Nice, but unusable.

How can I enable / force IPv6 (stateless) autoconfiguration on openSuSE 11.2?

    Thanks!

If I were to throw a Hail Mary guess at your problem, I'd suggest verifying that you've upgraded to the very latest kernel available. As "new" (and still not so new) IPv6 adoption is, it's possibly a bit buggy so getting the latest kernel would ensure the best patched.

Maybe even consider upgrading or installing side by side 11.4 to get <all> distro improvements.

    HTH,
    Tony
