where did you get these RPMs with missing icons? and, how did you
install them?
maybe they were not packaged for "suse", but for some other distro?
if so, you might try uninstalling those, and then use packages found
here: http://software.opensuse.org/search
careful: unless you know why you want to, don't use any source there
including factory or "gnome 3"
or, maybe you don't have to uninstall what you have already...(i don't
know what you installed or what it put where)
using sources packaged _for_ openSUSE from that page can be downloaded
and install via the command line or i'd recommend YaST...and, you can
just click on the "1-Click Install" link"....but, if you do, then choose
to not leave repos enabled afterwards..

If you have the updated gtk2-tools package (2.22.1-13.15.1) run
sudo /sbin/SuSEconfig --module gtk2

Somehow Virtualbox is version 4.0.4, but official version is 4.0.6.
gparted icon got solved with a reboot, I've seen fresh packages missing icons before - so I guess it's normal. But I still don't have task bar icon for Chromium and virtualbox guest shortcut.
Thank you for tip, but it didn't help.If you have the updated gtk2-tools package (2.22.1-13.15.1) run
sudo /sbin/SuSEconfig --module gtk2
Got a warning:

Did you upgrade from an older version? If so which?
Current version is 2.22.1-13.15.1 - but I don't know what was version before this one or how I can find out.
OS was freshly installed from Gnome Live CD OpenSUSE 11.4 32 bit.
