    Default Switch Workspace keyboard shortcuts

How do I configure the keyboard shortcuts to switch workspace? There are no options for anything like "Switch to Workspace 1" etc in Control Centre->Personal->Keyboard Shortcuts.

I am using compiz with desktop wall, openSUSE 11.4 and GNOME. I have used Linux for many years but SUSE is new to me.

I'm pretty sure you can use: Ctrl-Alt-Right to move one workspace to the right, and similarly use the other arrow keys to move in other directions. However, I don't know whether it is configurable in Gnome.

Thanks for the reply. I discovered the Ctrl-Alt-Right shortcut. I would like to make Ctrl-1 switch to workspace 1, Crtl-2 to workspace 2 etc. I have used those combinations for years and will miss them dreadfully if I can't configure them in SUSE.

i found that <ctrl><alt><right/left> doesn't work in some window managers
/ desktop environments i've tested now & then. good that it does work in
gnome, which i never really tried. i did find that <ctrl><Fn> to switch
desktops works in most of them. that comes pretty close to your
preference, assuming it does work in gnome...

Ok, I did some more exploring and found my own answer. This works for compiz, it won't be any use for other window managers.

I installed the package compizconfig-settings-manager which includes the command compizconfig-settings-manager or, for less typing, ccsm.

In here, I enabled "Viewport Switcher" and on the "Go to Specific Viewport tab", configured the keys I want. Viewport is apparently compiz-speak for workspace.
