    Default Libre Office Writer unusable.

Is it possible to delete Libre Office Writer and install open office again as Libre seems to be full of bugs and unusable? I have 11.3.

If you don't want to upgrade openSUSE to 11.4 (which worked for me in all respects), you may want to check Install/ Remove Software.

You can also check it through here yast-->Software--> Install/Remove Software and you go to yast2

LibreOffice works perfectly here on 11.3...so, i guess your system or LO
    install is somehow damaged..

you might find happiness by using YaST Software Management to update
LibreOffice (that will make sure all packages marked update are correct
on your disk (like remove and replace)

but, to go back OpenOffice this should work:

-in YaST Software Management, search on libreoffice, and mark all
    packages for delete

-in YaST Software Repositories make sure only these repos are enabled
and refreshed: oss, non-oss, update, packman

-in YaST Software Management, search on OpenOffice and click to install
    all packages you need

    should work
    might not
    read my caveat

Every time I try to copy/past from Libre I get a bug warning and every thing I have typed is lost. I have used Linux for years now and got used to working things out myself with a lot of help from forums but this has sickend me off as open office was Ok so why go backwards with this Libre and I just don't want to waste my time trying to put it right as open office needed no attention.

Well, hmmmmm....i just wrote this into a libreoffice document and copy
    pasted it to here..

and, i can save just fine without any loss....so, i have to wonder how
your libreOffice got damaged and mine did not..

sorry but i have to ask: why not just delete LibreOffice and install
OpenOffice? (i think i gave you the outline of how to do that..)

or, maybe i should ask why did you install LibreOffice if you were
    perfectly happy with OpenOffice?

do you automatically accept all updates offered?

    i do not.

    you don't have to.

by not looking to see what is listed to be updated, you give up your
chance to not mess with stuff you love as it is.

when you do that, you might as well have installed it..
