Default Opensuse 11.4 - booting from UEFI DVD

Just ordered a Asrock 890 FX Deluxe5 since I busted my P45 MSI motherboard

My new motherboard - as a lot of new boards coming out - has UEFI but it appears that Opensuse 11.4 has a problem with UEFI

Anyone has tried an UEFI installation and could confirm this, and if yes, is there a solution?

    Thanks!

No, it would be the other way around: Turn on. But that appears not to be the problem if I read the links I posted. It looks like the problem is deeper, that Opensuse 11.4 fails to boot into UEFI!?

PS to avoid any misunderstandings: I want to do a fresh install on a UEFI system. I could not yet test and confirm the problem because I will receive my new motherboard at the earliest tomorrow

Yep that is why I suggested to turn it OFF. This should provide the older normal BIOS functions. My guess is that UEFI requires propritary agreements to use and so may not be distributed in a totally Open system. Looks like there is a package to address the problem but I don't know how you would get it into the installer.

Well ok, now I understand what you ment. Sorry but I am more of a user than a geek.

Nevertheless, the idea would of course be to use UEFI so if someone has an idea how to produce an UEFI-installation ISO, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. This could be at the upper end of my ability, but I will give it a try as it looks kind of easy at first sight.

I assume I have to remove "Grub" and replace it by something else? Any hint/help by what? Is it "Grub2" or "Elilo"?
