Memory upgrade issue in Suse 9

Version: SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (i586), VERSION = 9, PATCHLEVEL = 3
Server Hardware: HP DL 370

Initially memory capacity(before upgrading the momory) was 4Gb and after upgrade 12 Gb.
Server Bios shows the 12Gb detected. in command like free -m and top shows only
4Gb. It seem like OS issue, what should I do to overcome this problem. Appreciate your support.

free -m

Thanking in Advance,
Ptx.

Are you running a kernel that uses PAE to overcome the 32-bit address space limit?

PS: There are some forums dedicated to SLES where you should have posted this, but the answer happens to be the same for all Linux kernels.

This forum is for openSUSE. For SLES please ask at the novell forums:
NOVELL FORUMS

My guess is that you need a PAE kernel.

I have also suse SLED 11 SP 1. My advice: go to novel forum to ask help, here is openSUSE forum. OpenSUSE is a bit different from SUSE(different repos etc). As ah7013 said that you need PAE kernel, yeahh you need it.
