Thread: OpenSUSE 11.4 - Modifiy Yast Software Update refresh frequency?

  1. #1

    Question OpenSUSE 11.4 - Modifiy Yast Software Update refresh frequency?

    Online Updates checks for updates too frequently, and the notification icon appearing and disappearing in the system tray is visually distracting.

    Can I modify Software Update to check once every 24 hours?

    I am seeing that notification at most once per 24 hours. What am I doing wrong?

    This possibly depends on the Desktop being used. I use KDE. What do you use?
    openSUSE Leap 15.4 Beta; KDE Plasma 5.24.4;
    testing Tumbleweed.

    If you use KDE run the command kpackagekit and check the settings, you can
    change if it checks daily, per hour, weekly and so on and which repositories
    should be checked.
    By the way I disabled that completely because I prefer to decide myself when
    I want to do the updates and checks.
    For gnome I do not know the place for the settings right now.
