Thread: Bluetooth applet

  1. #1

    Default Bluetooth applet

When my system starts, the bluetooth monolithic applet is always
started. I'm not using any bluetooth devices, so there's no need to run
it but I can't find where to stop it from loading. I ran chkconfig and
    it's not there. Any clues?

Are you using KDE4.6.X with BlueDevil? If so, then

    System Settings>>Startup and Shutdown>>Service Manager

Scroll down the the 'Startup Services' until you find 'BlueDevil' then disable, click 'Apply' and your done. The next time KDE starts, it will take effect.

If the above does not apply, then you'd better post details of openSUSE version, DE (and version), so that someone can assist with specific information.

Perfect, thanks. Never been to that screen before. I also killed off
the synaptiks doohickey as I don't have a touchpad.

What, you don't all have my version of choice memorized? ;-)

openSUSE 11.4 for what it's worth. The morning's coffee must not have
    kicked in when I posted.

    Appreciate the help...
