Gnome 3 is very adventurous, there risks associated with it. Tumbleweed is very adventurous, there risks associated with it. Together you get lots of risk, multiplicative IMO. Furthermore, the developers are very cautious about interdependence/interaction of Tumbleweed repo and the classical openSUSE 11.4 repo, but probably not much (if at all) interested the interdependence of the Gnome 3 repo and Tumbleweed's repo.

So it's really up to you. If you're adventurous, go ahead, but don't be upset if you have to reinstall openSUSE soon. [if I had the time I would do it just to see -- but I'd take images of the root partition and the home partition first, and I'd expect to have to write those images back after a while after playing with an increasingly destabilised combination]

    It will break everything

Seriously, if you do this, you are on your own. I am working on
integrating Gnome 3.0 into Tumbleweed once it stabilizes. So if you want
both, you need to wait a few weeks as Gnome 3.0 hasn't even been finished
packaged up properly yet for other openSUSE users.

    thanks,

    So adrienk,

Take this advice from Greg KH as really serious. He is the the initiator and responsible of the Tumbleweed project.

Yeahh we had many problems with Gnome. Although I do not use Gnome(KDE I have) in some threads who I helped about Gnome 3, has many problems.

Always everything new has problems, so we must check it and then upgrade.
