Default Just updated to 11.4 no items under Computer -> System

I just used the on-line update to upgrade from 11.3 to 11.4. Now when I click the computer button in lower left, there are no entries under system, ie. help, control center, yast, install, lock, logout, shutdown. How do I get those back?

Try a new user login. If that's the same, we may have to dig deeper. But lets see first.

If you can post the result of this:

    zypper lr -d

I have the system items when I log on as root. Did you want me to create a new user and see what that does?

    Here's the zypper output:

Do you see any difference in the list you just posted above and the ones I listed in post #4?

You even added more than you originally had!

Delete everything but those I quoted and edit the YES/No comments as shown!

    Oh *******s !

You have 11.3 and 11.4 repos mixed up

Do the following. First open a terminal and become su -
This is how: YouTube - su term.mpeg

    Now you are su -
Do the following, in the order shown. Use your mouse to copy and paste:

    Code:
    zypper rr 3
    Code:
    zypper rr 2
    Code:
    zypper rr 1
    Code:
    zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.4/ updates
    Code:
    zypper ar -f http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_11.4 packman
    Code:
    zypper ref
    (a) to accept if and when asked

    That should be good now

Sorry for the long delay. Tried to uninstall Firefox 4 and ended up having to reload 11.3 from scratch then update to 11.4 again (have other computers to upgrade so I wanted to see if I got the same results... and did). So, here's what I have now for repositories. Still no items under System. Did the zypper ref, accepted everything, rebooted.

You might as well re-install because you messed up by adding the VLC repo
Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide

    or

    Multimedia in One Click

Why exactly install 11.3 and 'dup' to 11.4 ?
Does the 11.4 DVD not work for you?
