    Default Unable to install OpenSUSE 11.4 32bit and/or 64bit

    Hi everyone,

I have the following problem: Whenever i try to install opensuse, (that is, the welcome screen comes on and i select if i want to try or to install etc etc), the following load screen appears, and when it is actually at the install menu, the screen is completely blurred/torn, and i'm unable to do do actually anything at all. I'm also unable to install or properly use recent distros (Ubuntu 11.04 beta1 among others), which also give me alot of graphical problems.

I'm left with either Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10, both of which lack updated versions of software i need to use.

I would like to stop using gnome based OS's, and really get into OpenSUSE/KDE, any help would be appreciated.

My Specs are these. (nvidia 7150m shared graphics card, and currently have 4gb RAM)

Sorry for any spelling mistake, i'm not a native english speaker.

You are hitting a problem with the nouveau graphics driver. It is relatively new
and does not work for all nVidia graphics adapters. In the boot line for
whichever kernel you want to boot, add "nomodeset" (without the " marks). That
way the system will not use nouveau.

Did you try booting with "nomodeset"?

If nomodeset fails, use "try it out" and boot with the option "init 3" just to see if you can get to a terminal.
