Thread: P67 chipset support?

  1. #1

    Default P67 chipset support?

Does openSUSE 11.4 support the new Intel P67 chipset and Intel SATA controller?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So this is the Intel chipset intended for Sandy Bridge CPU. Make sure you buy a motherboard with the B3 stepping rating, so that it has the fix for the four 3 GB SATA ports said to fail over time, otherwise it is actually a recalled chipset by Intel. I have a recalled one from MSI and it does work just fine with openSUSE 11.4, for now.

Thanks jdmcdaniel3! It works like a charm! I also have an affected P67 I don't think i will send it in though as I am using the SATA 6Gb/s ports.
