    Default sidewinder 2 joystick

I am running open suse 11.3 64 bit and am trying hard how to install the above mentioned joystick on my system. Googling does not seem to produce any clear cut answers, perhaps someone with greater knowledge than myself could assist?

Thanks to anyone who can help. ps. I am using a medion akoya laptop. 4 gig ram.

    KDE or Gnome or...?
    USB or game port?
    Did you try Yast>Hardware>Joystick?

USB should be recognized. What does dmesg say?

Also check the HCL for linux.

According to this it should work OOTB.

There's also a driver here, don't know if it is still current.

    Good luck.
