    Default Problem accessing Samba shares

    Please help,
    I recently upgraded opensuse 11.3 to 11.4 using a clean install. I have a Iomega Home Media Drive and a Windows computer connected to the broadband router. Before I upgraded, I could access the media drive through the file manager . When I click on Network in the file manager an icon for Windows Network appears but when I click on it a message comes up : Unable to mount location Failed to retrieve share list from server. The printer attached to the Home Media drive is working. I can access the drive and download files using my browser. My internet access is working. Under Yast allowed services, I opened ports for NetBios server, Samba Client, and cups.
    I am running Gnome desktop with ifup configured through YAST. It seems like I must have some authentication issue but I cannot remember what I did previously to get it working. I'm sure this is something simple and dumb but I have wasted enough time thrashing about aimlessly and I 'm afraid of mucking things up worse. Thanks

    cnpeterson2000;

    There is a problem with Samba and AppArmor on 11.4. Go to the Yast>Novell
    AppArmor> AppArmor control panel > Profile Modes and set usr.sbin.smbd and
    usr.sbin.nmbd to complain rather than enforce.

    If this does not solve the problem then review this Howto on configuring
    Samba:
    http://opensuse.swerdna.org/suselanprimer.html

    If you are still having problems after doing the above, please post the
    contents of your /etc/samba/smb.conf.

    Good luck, I'm sure you'll have it going in no time.

    Code:
    Unable to mount location Failed to retrieve share list from server.
    IIRC that might be a firewall setting -- but as P.V. said, workaround the bug first.
