Thread: Canon Lide 50 on 64bits openSUSE 11.4 not working

  1. #1

    Default Canon Lide 50 on 64bits openSUSE 11.4 not working

    Upgrade to 64bits openSUSE 11.4 but my Canon Lide 50 scanner is not working.

    Installed the following packages:

    rpm -qa |grep sane

    Following the debug from scanimage

    export SANE_DEBUG_GENESYS=255
    export SANE_DEBUG_GENESYS_GL841=255

    scanimage -d genesys
    [sanei_debug] Setting debug level of genesys to 255.
    [genesys] SANE Genesys backend version 1.0 build 63 from sane-backends 1.0.22
    [genesys] SANE Genesys backend built with libusb
    [genesys] sane_init: authorize != null
    [genesys] sane_init: little endian machine
    [genesys] probe_genesys_devices: start
    [genesys] attach: start: devp != NULL, may_wait = 0
    [genesys] attach: trying to open device `libusb:002:005'
    [genesys] attach: couldn't open device `libusb:002:005': Invalid argument
    [genesys] probe_genesys_devices: exit
    [genesys] sane_init: exit
    [genesys] sane_open: start (devicename = `')
    scanimage: open of device genesys failed: Invalid argument
    [genesys] sane_exit: start
    [genesys] sane_exit: exit

    Any suggestion welcome apart from down grade to 32-bits.

    Is there any reason you are running sane-backends-32bit with a 64bit system? Is that a specific requirement for your printer? I would uninstall sane-backends-32bit to see if that works.

    On my 64bit system I have installed:

    Is your printer otherwise printing?
