I can play video with kaffeine but I can't find (in menu kaffeine) how to insert subtitle to. Goolge is not helpful for me in this case.

    Kaffeine can show subtitles.

However, I also wondered at first whether Kaffeine can do subtitles, since I could not find a menu entry to activate subtitles.

In order to activate subtitles, one can use the drop-down menu shown in the toolbar next to the volume setting. I believe that one can also configure a shortcut key for adding subtitles. Hope this helps?

I don't know how to upload my own picture here, but here is a standard picture that I found with Google Image search. It is similar enough to what I get when I open Kaffeine after a plain install of 11.4. It doesn't matter that this picture shows the tab for digital TV, as the toolbar on the lower border is the same for the movie and viewer tab.

On the toolbar on the lower border, there are first the buttons for rewind, play/pause, stop, and fastforward. Next is a drop down menu (in the above picture labelled auto) which allows the selection of the audio track. Then there is a drop down menu for the subtitles (in the picture labelled off).

Note that these drop down menus are usually grey with no text, if the media you are playing does not have multiple audio track or subtitles. For example, one of my movies only has a single media track, but many subtitles, so the first button is greyed out while the second allows me to choose subtitles.

    Hi STurtle,
Thank you, I can see the dropdown menu for subtitle. For me, it only can select if my subtitle's filename and my film's filename are the same.
Can I config font and more for subtitle?

I have no idea, but given that KDE is generally highly configurable, I am sure that there is a way.

I am sorry, but I am only a very casual Kaffeine user, as I rarely watch TV/Movies on my laptop, so I am not the right guy to ask. I just happened to wonder about subtitles last week myself, noticed the drop-down and the missing main-menu entry for that, and saw your post by chance and replied.
