.mov files in SLED10.1 without libdvdcss

Hi all,

We use SLED10.1 as the base O/S for our Point-of-sale registers and we have run into the need for these registers to play .mov files that are sent down from the corporate office.

The base installed KAFFEINE or REALPLAYER won’t play those extensions.

Can anyone recommend a good .mov player that doesn’t require the libdvdcss libraries. (We can’t use those for legal reasons). I tried downloading the latest XINE but got lost in RPM-hell and finally gave up.

you are welcome to seek advice here, but BE ADVISED that many of the
answers might be from folks who have never run SLES/SLED (or maybe
never even heard of it before) and you are likely much better off if
you seek assistance from the Novell forums, via: http://forums.novell.com/

it is those folks who provide that enterprise system, and have the
BEST chance of helping you…correctly and completely…

this is the openSUSE forums of users helping users…most of us on on
openSUSE 11.2, 3 or 4 and all of those are VASTLY different from
SLED10, so any answer you get might be from a different planet
(relatively speaking)…

on the other hand, there ARE a few SLED users here which might stop by
and help…

Doh! Of course your right. I should know better.

I use OpenSuse 11.3 for my personal laptop so this is the forum that I normally come to for advice. So habit made me post the question here. I’ll repost the question over in the novell forums.

come back any time…in fact, why don’t you cruise through often…it
could be good to have another sled driver around…
