    Default Screen / Monitor Einstellung in 11.4

    Ich habe wirklich selten etwas konfuseres als 11.4 gesehen. Selbst mit mehr als 10 Jahren Erfahrung unter Linux kann ich keine Moeglichkeit finden wie man die Screen Groesse in akzeptabler Weise veraendern kann. Sie wurde mir bei Installation mit 1600x1200 vorgegeben und leider dachte ich man koennte das einfach hinterher aendern. In jedem besch...ene Windows kann das jeder Depp in 2 Sekunden finden, aber 11.4 denkt wohl es wuesste besser welches Screen Format das beste ist fuer den Benutzer.
    Das ist LAECHERLICH!!!

    Solltest du KDE benutzen, gibt es bei den "Systemeinstellungen" den
    Punkt "Anzeige und Monitor".

    Geben tuts den Einsteller schon, aber man kann dort bei mir nichts anderes einstellen ausser "1600x1200". MaW der Einsteller ist sinnlos.

    Ach ja, und uebrigens geht die Sprach-Einstellung in KDE fuer den root User auch nicht. Ja, ich hab mich ausgeloggt ...

    Zwei Dinge:

    1.) Erstmal einwenig beruhigen!

    2.) Dann gibste uns mal durch, welchen Grafikchip Du verwendest. Eventuell musste noch das korrekte Treibermodul nachinstallieren

    Monitor Multiscan 520 GS
    Grafikkarte erkannt als
    ATI Technologies Inc
    Model:
    2D driver: radeon
    3D driver: R600 classic (7.10

    Auflösung 1024 X 768

    Ausserdem flacker der Monitor im Abstand von ca 30 sek.

    Gibt es dazu eine, wenn möglich universelle Lösung.
    Mit Suse 11.2 war noch alles IO (

    Das grafische Herumgespiele wird immer mehr, aber die Basisfunktionen werden immer schlechter. Das ist nicht erst seit 11.4 so, ich beobachte diesen negativen Trend schon laenger.

    Man könnte auch statt dessen SUSE Paste oder einen anderen Pastebin benutzen, oder ?

    Im Übrigen steht es hier wohl überwiegend jedem frei,
    entweder seinen Emotionen durch bis zu drei graphische Smilies oder auf andere Weise Ausdruck zu verleihen (solange man beispielsweise niemanden beleidigt)
    oder aber auch gerne solches bleiben zu lassen.

    Puh... schwer, das ist ein etwas exotischerer Chip, den ich jetzt selbst noch nicht hatte. Deswegen fische ich da etwas im Trüben. Der xorg ist generell jetzt etwas anders aufgebaut und sollte zumindest im Standard VGA Bereich sich automatisch konfigurieren. Ich denke mal, dass da der Fehler im Modul- Bereich zu suchen ist, was denke ich über den Kernel mit kommt. Da muss ich selbst noch einwenig rumgoogeln.

    Wegen den Attachments: Die scheinen tatsächlich deaktiviert zu sein. Das kann aber auch eine Sicherheitseinstellung sein, denn über Attachments kann man auch nicht unbedingt "sauberen" Kontent auf einen Server hochladen.

    Dieses "exotische" Board ist eines der klassischen Tyan Server Boards mit onboard Grafik. Ich habe davon in der Firma mehr als 20 Stueck laufen. Bis 11.3 war das alles kein Problem, jedenfalls nicht im Hinblick auf X.
