Thread: Opensuse 11.4 NFS Share trying to come up before network is up.

  1. #1

    Default Opensuse 11.4 NFS Share trying to come up before network is up.

    Both NFS client and server are running 11.4 Clean installs.

    When I have nfs configured on the laptop and log into gnome, It appears as though wireless doesn't even try to connect for another 3 mins. Then it comes up and after an hour or more nfs finally shows up. And works correctly.

    However if I remove nfs client, the system boots and wireless comes up within a few seconds.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    This is strange because it shouldn't work with NetworkManager and should work with ifup. You get your wireless connection with both ? Could You show us your /etc/fstab file ?

    I haven't tested this, as I am not using NFS.

    If you setup the connection for "ifup" method, then when editing the details for the device (in yast), look at the general tab. There's a selection on when to activate the device. One choice is "At boot time" and another choice is "On NFSroot".

    I would guess that at least one of those choices would work for you. There are several other choice that probably delay the network start for too long.
    openSUSE Leap 15.3; KDE Plasma 5.18.6;
