    Default alsa update

    Hi,

I'm trying to update ALSA, following the instructions here: SDB:Alsa-update - openSUSE.

I'm not sure how to proceed at STEP THREE. There are two sets of instructions, based on whether or not the kernel has been updated. I'm not sure if it has been. How can I make sure?

    Thanks for your help.

    Oops, I meant STEP FOUR.

Anyway, I applied all available updates (kernel updates included) and then went ahead and followed the "updated kernel" instructions for the alsa update.

After installing alsa-driver-kmp-desktop, some warnings were printed out, as follows:

    Additional rpm output:
WARNING: Can't read module /lib/modules/2.6.31.14-0.6-desktop/weak-updates/updates/vboxnetflt.ko: No such file or directory
WARNING: Can't read module /lib/modules/2.6.31.14-0.6-desktop/weak-updates/updates/vboxnetadp.ko: No such file or directory
WARNING: Can't read module /lib/modules/2.6.31.14-0.6-desktop/weak-updates/updates/vboxdrv.ko: No such file or directory

Should I be concerned, or can I ignore these warnings?

what are you trying to achieve?

you can simply add the version from:-

    Index of /repositories/multimedia:/libs

as a yast source and update through yast
