Remove entry #7 (that is causing the problem):
    Code:
    zypper rr 7
    zypper lr
openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) with Kernel 3.7.10-1.16-desktop and KDE 4.11.2 on MacBook Pro

yes, but what is that (temporary) repository for? i just don't want to remove something and cause more not so obvious problems by doing that.

It's a repository that shouldn't be there anyway
Don't worry, you are not going to destroy your system by removing this temporary repo.

Yes, as Spyhawk mentioned, it should not have been there. It is anyway a wrong entry and I don't know how it ended up there.

I'm having a similar problem, but 'zypper lr -u' doesn't show any such rogue entry for me.

This was the error message I got when trying to install Lotus Notes 8.5:
Problem connecting to a software source.
Specified path '/var/tmp/TmpDir.XFGDuc' is not allowed as media source.
    dir://var/tmp/TmpDir.XFGDuc
My output from 'zypper lr -u':

'/var/tmp/TmpDir.XFGDuc' doesn't exist on my computer, as nearly as I can tell.

(This is a fresh install of 11.2 from a downloaded DVD.)

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Hmm ... try disabling your CD/DVD repository ("zypper mr -d 1").
