    In FFox Prefs > Applications
Just check what windows media player files are set to use
You should see a drop box

Caf, you didn't mention whether you tried the website that I provided. It might be the case that it doesn't work for you either.

Ok. Well this is puzzling then. I have a 11.3-32bit and 11.2-64bit and neither of them work. So obvously there's something conflicting with the plugin causing it not to function on my side. One strange thing that I have on my 11.2-64bit is that it will only read the gecko-mediaplayer.so file, and won't read the others: gecko-mediaplayer-dvx.so, gecko-mediaplayer-wmp.so, etc. Very strange.

I'm willing to try anything at this point, so if you have any thoughts I'm all ears.... err, eyes.

    Edit: Konqueror works

    Did you try the
    vlc-mozillaplugin

You need to switch to it in FFox Prefs>Applications
For the media type in question

I found a plugin that works, so it's not about that anymore. I'm trying to learn why the mplayer plugins aren't working. It appears, at least to me, that there is a conflict in my packages somewhere and I want to find it. So if you can be so kind and help me troubleshoot, or least give me ideas or things to try, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all your help by the way.
