    Default GIMP download, which one?

Hi! I got openSUSE and in the GIMP download webpage GIMP - Downloads I got two options:

SUSE users can install GIMP by running yast -i gimp or zypper in gimp, depending on the distribution version.

    ... which should I choose?

    Thanks!!!

    i prefer
    -open YaST
    -give root password when asked
    -go Software Management
-type gimp in Search box, and click Search button
-left click to put a check mark next to the package named gimp
    -click "Accept" (bottom right)
-YaST will probably then show a long list of other things it wants to
install (all associated with gimp) say ok..
-sit on your hands until it finishes..

-go to menu and click on GIMP and enjoy!!

afaik, there's no difference between yast -i and zypper in. the result will be the same. whenever i'm to lazy to fire up the yast gui i prefer the zypper way.

    cheers

sorry, i do not understand your question but one of these might answer it:

-the GIMP you install with either YaST *or* zypper will be the same
    (so there are no differences)..

-YaST is a GUI program, and zypper is a command line program--so, they
are different in the way the user interacts...however both YaST and
zypper are ways to manage your installed software..

I think you're confused about "depending on the distribution version." The "distribution" refers to the version of Linux you have, not the version of Gimp you'll get.
