    As the name suggests, the kernel-desktop has been optimized for the typical desktop user of openSUSE. If you are setting up a server, you most likely would go with kernel-default. What are you using your computer for?

    It depends.

    If you have a 32bit system and a lot of memory, the default kernel might not be able to see all of the memory.
