After a system update, I was unable to run almost any application because it said it couldn’t find any of the required fonts. Running xlsfonts showed only about 6 fonts on the system and running xset q showed the font path to be built-ins. I found this board (I had used swerdna to configure my remote desktop) and saw the change of libdmx.so to libvnc.so. This seemed to solve my font issue. Just wanted to let malcolmlewis and swerdna know that this solved my problem (although I have no idea why). If anyone can give me more information I would appreciate it.
