Default Where can I find gnome-ppp?

I was looking in the Software Manager, and I noticed there is no gnome-ppp. Does anyone know anywhere where I can find a suitable package?

I prefer gnome-ppp to kppp, but if there are no gnome-ppp packages available, could someone lead me to the source? Or perhaps show me an alternative ppp front-end?

    Thank you,
    Cameron

Looks like the development has been discontinued for some time.

One page I found with a quick google search said that the code may be
    available through the Ubuntu project.

A quick online search shows you can download a tarball from here. Though it appears development stopped a few years ago.

    PPP GUI for openSUSE/Gnome?

You might also try installing qinternet (smpppd frontend), and see if that works for you.

The sources of gnome-ppp I've found don't compile correctly. If interested in helping me, I'll post the output here, but for now I'll just wait.

qinternet does not work at all for me. It just eternally dials, never actually connecting.

Kppp would be alright, but I can't run it from my user, only from root. from my user, I have done the instructions mentioned by deano_ferrari, but it won't create a lock file, and if I disable the usage of a lock file, it connects, but then imediately disconnects. I don't know how to go about solving this. I've tried using "su" and "sudo" to run kppp, but it doesn't work. It doesn't even start.

I'd like to know, is there any specific problem revolving around the discontinue of the development of gnome-ppp? I've been using it since I started using Linux, and it's never caused me any problems.

    Thank you for any help.

    Hi
What version of openSUSE are you running, anything wrong with using the network manager?

How can you use the network manager for dial-up?

And thank you for the gnome-ppp packages. They work perfectly, and more efficiently than kppp. )

I have installed smpppd. It installed when I configured my modem in YaST.

Is it possible to use the NetworkManager for dial-up connections?
