Thread: How to remain YAST2 open not closed after installing one app?

  1. #1

    Question How to remain YAST2 open not closed after installing one app?

    I like to select one or two appz then install once a time.But each time when YAST finishes an installation it close without asking.If I want to install another appz in a few seconds,another refreshing repositories is needed.I have to wait a minute.It's quite annoying.Anyway to remain YAST open and let me close it manully?

    It's quite simple if you know how to do it.
    Start YaST->System->/etc/sysconfig Editor.
    There you should change the value of System->Yast2->GUI->PKGMGR_ACTION_ON_EXIT to something other than close, summary for example.

    Good luck!

    It depends which interface you're using, I guess. I use the qt interface
    and it's certainly possible there. You go into the /etc/sysconfig editor
    and select System/Yast2/GUI and change PKGMGR_ACTION_AT_EXIT to
    something other than close.

    AFAIK both the qt and the GTK interface use this setting.
    And if I'm not mistaking there is even a check box in the GTK gui to enable/disable this before installing.

    Good luck!
