    Default OpenOffice updating

I am running Suse 11.3 64bit and OpenOffice 3.2.1.4 it installed with the system. OpenOffice's latest is 3.3 something, is there a repository that I can add to continuously update the program? Or do I need to completely remove the present program and install the latest from OpenOffice.org? It would appear that the one that came with the system was pieced together by the Suse team - do they update this at all? RJ.

The following are the update repos for openSUSE11.3.

updates to openoffice are at "http://download.opensuse.org:80/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/openSUSE_11.3"/

also available is LibreOffice at "http://download.opensuse.org:80/repositories/LibreOffice:/Stable/openSUSE_11.3/"

the _update_ repo provides security and bug patches to the version of
OpenOffice which was released *with* the version of openSUSE in use..

the _update_ repo does not provide a means to _upgrade_ from one
    version of OO.o to another..

to do that, one must (as the OP suggested) must install from another
source....i am not sure that it is required to first remove the
existing...but, it might be wise because it is true that the version
in openSUSE is highly manicured by openSUSE/Novell to ensure use in
    commercially supported versions..

there are reports elsewhere in these fora that the free fork of OO.o
(LibreOffice) is pretty nice, and i _guess_ it was forked at a near
    latest code point!

If you choose LibreOffice, One click install from www.software.opensuse.org will enable you to remove OpenOffice and install LibreOffice all in one go.

Thanks to every one for their input. (john_hudson) I tried the site you listed but it doesn't appear to be any good any more. I have since down loaded and installed LibreOffice on my Suse 11.2 machine and it works like a dream, seems to be much faster and seems to handle Microsoft Office files like a dream, a strong point for me. I uninstalled OpenOffice apps before hand and every thing went well, however, in their install directions they didn't have the right infor for typing in in terminal. If installing on suse it should be: su -c "etc. etc. etc. They didn't list the (-c) but once I figured that out things went very well. I strongly recommend LibreOffice! Once again thanks.
