    Because it is a bug. Did you install this library?

    Amarok is working now but only with Xine.
    As all I wanted is to make Amarok works, my problem has been solved.

    Thanks guys!

    Hello,

    I solved this problem in my OpenSuSE 11.4:

    First I install OpenSuSE 11.4, after install the multimedia codecs in the site: openSUSE 11.4 | SUSE Linux | Beginner's guide to multimedia codecs MP3 DVD 3D nvidia ati wireless netbook

    But my amarok crashed, see the message:

    KGlobal::locale::Warning your global KLocale is being recreated with a valid main component instead of a fake component, this usually means you tried to call i18n related functions before your main component was created. You should not do that since it most likely will not work

    (amarok:7610): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_debug_add_log_function: assertion `func != NULL' failed

    Annddd I did was the following:

    1) open yast2
    2) find packages with "phonon"
    3) marked only: libphonon4, phonon, phonon-backend-xine
    4) unmarked: phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10, phonon-backend-vlc, phonon-****-devel, phonon-devel

    5) find packages with "xine"
    6) marked: kaffeine, kdebase4-runtime-xine, libxine1, libxine1-codecs, libxine1-codecs-vfs, libxine1-pulse, phonon-backend-xine, xine-ui, xinetd

    5) ualaa, its work amarok and vlc and xine!!!!!

    Strange it is. I have Gstreamer and I have no crashing problems.
