Plasma Desktop Panel Freezes Each Time I Save an Event with KOrganizer

When I create a new event on KOrganizer, the Plasma Panel(taskbar) freezes and will not accept any mouse input when I choose to open an application from the panel. The time that it takes to restore input is consistently 20 seconds.

3D driver: Unknown classic (7.8.2)

Thank you in advance.

Have you tried it in a new user account?
And or With no desktop effects

My R61 has the same Intel chip
It’s probably the most reliable I have and whilst it doesn’t currently have 11.3 or kde4.5, I can’t check properly on the Intel side. As I’m testing 11.4 ATM and kde4.7

This looks like the same OP posting here about another and possibly related freeze/crash accessing a website with SeaMonkey. Maybe intel driver related (???), or screensaver, or both.

I have not tried with a new user account, and my desktop affects are disabled. I never had this problem with openSUSE 11.2 or with openSUSE 11.3 using KDE 4.4.4.

Do you think that this is related to the Intel driver?

I doubt it.
A new user account will at least confirm if there is some gremlin or not in your normal accounts settings.

Now I know 11.3 KDE4.4.4 worked ok, it’s unlikely to be a problem with the intel driver.
