Failed Services in runlevel 5: vmware

Hello,

For some reason today when I attempted to reboot my machine I am unable to start runlevel 5. The errors I am getting are the following:

Failed services in runlevel 5: vmware
Skipped services in runlevel 5: cifs nfs

I uninstalled Vmware in hopes that it would solve the problem. No dice.

Anyone either have any ideas how to debug this or has anyone seen this issue before.

Thanks.

Nevermind, reinstalling the NVIDIA graphics driver did the trick.

Sure you’re not on RL 5 then?
Is it perhaps just X that does not start?
Simply log in and run

egrep “EE|WW” /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Maybe there’s something wrong.

No, because that is not the problem. You could have tried by simply disabling “vmware”: chkconfig
vmware off" - no need to uninstall it.

You probably have a problem with video. Check X logs.
