    Default Amarok crashes everytime.

    Hi,

My amarok crashes everytime. I saw an similar problem posted at OpenSUSE 11.3: Amarok crashes on startup. And I suspect this is because of the nvidia drivers that I installed, just as is the case in the above mentioned thread.

What should I do to overcome this now? Is there a solution posted?

After I read the above thread, I deleted all the repositories except for the four.

I had these following repositories prior:

    Code:
    nachiket@dhcppc1:~> zypper lr -d
    # | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh | Priority | Type | URI | Service

And now I have only these four.

You are right, it is the nVidia drivers messing you up.
Some people have suggested it doesn't appear in KDE4.5 but in my case it did.
I would suggest to uninstall the current nVidia drivers from YaST.
    Install kernel-source from YaST.
Download the previous stable version (253? - search the forums for a link to a .run file as you can't get it from the repos)
Log in to the command line and run the nvidia installer as root.
This is very simple and you just have to keep pressing enter to agree to conditions etc.
Search for installing the "hard way" for a further description of what I have described.

If you want the nvidia driver
I think the latest release, available for download at nvidia, is OK.
You have to install it manually
SDB:NVIDIA the hard way - openSUSE

    Hi, I can confirm it.
Also with KDE4.4 the nvidia driver 260.x makes problems. Two days ago, I changed the nvidia driver from 260.x to 253.x and afterwards Amarok was working again.
@Opensuse Team: I suggest to remove the 260.x driver from thre repositoires and replace it with the 253.x driver.

    Michael
