So, we know you have an nVidia video card and that is good, they work well if you load the proprietary binary video driver (in my opinion). We need to know more to provide precise help.
openSUSE Version and 64/32 bit
Desktop Type and Version.
Have you loaded the nVidia proprietary or is just the default?
With openSUSE 11.3, I might even suggest you rename your xorg.conf file if you have one and reboot. I might wonder if you are trying to use two monitors? But more detail is required. I might suggest you read through the following guide to see if it might help.

I disabled Xinerema and enabled TwinView then the problem is solved.
