    Default Initializing Java Applet

    My brokerage firm uses a Java script to present real-time account information. I installed Java-1_6_0-sun Runtime environment. When the applet runs, I get a message that says "Start: Applet not initialized"

    After a few minutes< i get the following Error message:

    A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

    Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/general.xml:0

    Here is test #14 from mmcheck version 2.10 (Message #40 Here).

    14. Show if Java Packages are Installed from openSUSE ...

    Command: rpm --query --all --queryformat '%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}-%{ARCH} -> %{VENDOR}\n' '*java-*'

    java-1_6_0-sun-1.6.0.u22-1.2.1-x86_64 -> openSUSE
    java-1_6_0-sun-alsa-1.6.0.u22-1.2.1-x86_64 -> openSUSE
    java-1_6_0-sun-plugin-1.6.0.u22-1.2.1-x86_64 -> openSUSE
    java-1_6_0-sun-devel-1.6.0.u22-1.2.1-x86_64 -> openSUSE

    You should expect to have only Sun Java Packages installed. If your files
    include the name --> openjdk <--, it is suggested that they be uninstalled.
    I would run the command above and see if you have the same output. Making sure no package has the name openjdk in it.

    Default Re: Initializing Java Applet

    Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply.

    I removed the openjdk packages, installed the Sun plugins, rebooted and it worked like a sapphire charm!

    Again, Thank you.
