    ok SOLVED
    thanks for nothing
    by the way
    the solution was to edit
    /etc/bin/xdg-open
    and replace

    lxde)
    open_generic "$url"

    with

    lxde)
    pcmanfm "$url"

    works so perfectly +D

Congratulations on solving your problem, and thanks for sharing your solution.

Sorry that you received no timely reply, but when it comes to LXDE support on our forum, we have only a few (couple ? ) of volunteers who read LXDE posts and actually try to help. Hence typically it can take days before one gets a response, as those of us who try to help on LXDE also have other important things in our lives to attend to.

If you are happy with LXDE and are learning a fair amount about it, perhaps you could continue visiting our forum and help out with LXDE support requests like yours.

    Best wishes !

I think that should be /usr/bin

Great tip, thanks. pcmanfm is about the fastest and cleanest fm I have used. I am using it as my default. The "open current folder as root" is tools is a great time saver. If you haven't tried it yet, you should.

LXDE is much more reliable than a few releases ago. It is currently my desktop of choice. I like the clean look and handy tools, but the speed and simplicity are big points. I have had to let go of my old favorite desktops due the the heavy handed useage of all the eye candy and the toll it takes on my systems. This is great, like old KDE or Gnome.
