define fast? faster than Vista, or Win7, or Win95, or Red Hat or what?

and, what fast: download, upload, compiling software, sorting a data
base, displaying graphs, frames per second when playing a particular
    game, or what?

both 11.2 and 11.3 are faster than some other systems in most all
things and maybe slower than other systems in some other things..

a LOT depends on your hardware--especially your graphics system...the
amount of RAM and what kinds of applications and loading you expect on
your system...by the way, is this a rack mount server, or what?

my overall thoughts on 11.4 Milestone 4 is that it is a great system
to TEST, but neither the openSUSE Community nor i would recommend it
for use on your only personaly system or *any* production system...it
is available for TESTING, not for using...and, if you want to test
with it, it is advisable to do so only with data you are well prepared
    to lose..

i'd recommend you get a Live CD for both 11.2 and 11.3, in the flavor
you wish (64 v 32 and KDE v Gnome v LDXE) and run them all (one at a
time of course) and use a stop watch to time the events and
applications which are most important to you to be "fast"..

and, remember: NO live cd system will every be as fast as one
installed (because reading from the CD is vastly slower than from any
hard drive)--so, if you must, you will need to install each version
one at a time and do your speed measurements that way, and record them
    for later analysis..

USB mass storage devices, like USB hard drives for example should automatically show up and give you the option to mount. Do you mean this was the first time you were able to mount the blackberry device and access the files?
