Default openSUSE 11.3 (with VNC black screen fix): VNC login - Tab key or mouse click resets screen

First off, thanks for trying to fix the "VNC black screen" issue!

I've only applied the fixes. I have NOT tweaked xdm or IPv6 explicitly.

Now I see the login screen in krdc. I can even type a username. The problem is I cannot get to the Password box to enter the password - if I press the Tab key or if I click with the mouse, the screen resets.

The behavior through the browser applet is exactly the same.

Does anyone else experience the same behavior? Is there a workaround?

    Thanks,
    Zlatko

I don't have any browser problem, but I get the same thing as you with krdc,
usually when it asks for the wallet pw. The workaround for me is to switch
to another page (I almost have something on another desktop) and click on
another active app. Then I can usually switch back to the desktop with krdc
and select the pw field and off I go. This has been a problem for me for
several weeks now. It's a bug in the focus code but I haven't figured out
just what. Krdc is the only app that gives me the problem, though.

Will, thanks for encouraging me to keep looking for a workaround! I couldn't make your workaround work for me, but I found another one that's straightforward:
    1. Click on the Password box before you have typed anything, and enter the password.
    2. Click on the Username box, and enter the username.
    3. Click on the Enter-ish button.

At this point I see a plain background. Looks like I've worked around one bug just to hit the next one.

Guys, I'm not religious on VNC/KRDC. If someone could suggest a remote access GUI that's available on openSUSE 11.3, I'll gladly try it. My only requirement is that it works.

    Thanks,
    Zlatko
