burning large files with k3b mkisofs crashed

hi,
I have a problem with burning some disks. I believe the problem to be when the file sizes are large. using suse 11.3 x 64 and updates done. k3b version 2.0.1-1pm 2.7
burned normal dvd yesterday with3.5 Gb + 1.5Gb files.
Tried burning to BD-R disk with 11.5 Gb file.
I have burned blu ray disks before with my machine but used nero, I would prefer to use k3b as should do this.
I get error of mkisofs crashed and following error log

You have to use UDF format.

Cheers / Saludos,

(from 11.2 x86_64 “Emerald” at Telcontar)

within the command line it says udf.
First attempt detects large files and comments it is setting as udf.
specifically set udf from burn options. still says same.
I am sure it is to do with udf but log and status tell me it is using that?

Anything I am missing? It shows disk and sizes correctly only probs with these large files.
Do have to include any extra packages for udf or anthing like that?
Thanks for all replies.

I have this problem too, I reported this bug here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=656502

I am having a similar problem. I am trying to backup files which add up to 21GB on to a BD-R. When it gets 99% complete I get the following error> mkisofs 3.1a25 returned an unknown error (code 253). I have tried updating to K3b-kf5 but it will not launch (no error reported). All of the required support programs are up to date. Similar problems with K3b go back several years. Nero 4 for Linux is no longer available and I cannot find a backup program that will write to M-Disks or BD-R Disks. Any help backing up my HD to BD-R disks would be appreciated.
