Weary of upgrading

Hi folks,

I'm on opensuse 11.2 with kde 4.4.5 and I want to upgrade to kde 4.5.2. When I'm about to upgrade, I'm told that Networkmanager-kde4-lang-0.9.svn1128615 requires Networkmanager-kde4-lib-0.9.svn1128615 but that the requirement can't be met.

Of all the Networkmanager packages, it's the only one that is colored red, the others are in blue. It's also not in the kde4.5 repository unlike the other network packages. I don't know what Networkmanager-kde4-lang does, som my questions are:

1. Do I need it? Is it optional or a requirement for a working Networkmanager? In other words, can I deinstall and still be able to connect to the internet?

2. If I need it, can I keep the obsolete version of Networkmanager and yet continue with installing the rest of kde 4.5.2? Will the old Networkmanager be compatible with kde 4.5.2?

I would use plasmoid-networkmanagement over NetworkManager for KDE 4.5

Ok, I have no attachment to Networkmanager.

Just to make sure I'm with you: Are you proposing that I should deinstall Networkmanager altogether and install plasmoiid-netw.management instead?

Up-date:
I just tried to install plasmoid-networkmgt and got the following message:

Networkmanager-kde4-0.9.svn.1128615 conflicts with plasmoid-networkmanagement provided by plasmoid-networkmanagement-0.9.svn.1184295-152.1.x86_64

I'm then presented with two options:

1. downgrade of Networkmanager-kde4-0.9.svn.1128615 replacing with Networkmanager-kde4-0.9.svn.1043876
2. Not to install plasmoid-network.mgt.

What to do?

Are you using wireless?? AFAIK there is no need for it unless you use wireless.

I'm using a mobile broadband. Does that count as wireless?

I noticed that there are two Network-lang packages -- Network-kd4-lang and Network-kde4-libs-lang. The latter one was not checked/installed. When I choose to install it I was asked to deinstall the current one, which I did. That solved further dependency issues and I now have a working kde 4.5.2

I have some further questions though.

1. I'm currently using kde45-factory-repository instead of the stable kde45-repository (the reason for choosing factory instead av the stable one was because the stable one had alot more packages colored red whereas the factory-repository had almost none). Can I later on switch to the stable repository, once the factory version moves on to kde4.6?

2. I upgraded the system by clicking on 'switch to packages in the core repository'. Should I do the same when I update the packages in the Extras-repository? (Or will that somehow ruin the previous switch in the core-repo?)

3. KInfoCenter is not in the factory repository. After the upgrade, I'm still on 4.4.4. Am I missing something? I thought that with 4.5.2 there also is a new KInfoCenter?
