Default OpenOffice very slow Open/save dialog in openSuse 11.3

    Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with OpenOffice 3.2.1. After some minutes of work, operations like save as, print, and open are very slow because the window dialogue is very slow to show folders and select files; you have to wait a minute or so to choose a sub folder.

As far as I know this version of OO is a stable release which makes weird to have such slowness.

    Is somebody experiencing the same?
Has it to do with OO or with KDE or Java?
Is there a way to fix it?

How much memory do you have is there a chance you are hitting the swap file?

    Hi,

the problem is the KDE4 integration OpenOffice.
Have a look on the novel bug report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=616047
Delete the "OpenOffice_org-kde-4" package. The you won't have the KDE4 open/safe dialogs, but it works.

    Best wishes
