    In KDE you can change the themes, backgrounds, style
    In YAST there are also options for boot-up control
    When your up to your a** in Alligators it's pretty hard to remember you intended to drain the swamp (author unknown)

    /usr/share/doc/packages/bootsplash/README.themes explains how to do it in 11.3; see if you have it in 11.2

    I doubt that KDE has anything to do with the boot splash, which is something GRUB puts on the screen. KDE rules over the login screen (when kdm is used) and the screen that is shown after a successfull login of a KDE user before the desktop is shown.
