Default VirtualBox 3.2.8 on openSuse 11.3

    Hi all,

I have a very odd problem regarding installation of VB 3.2.8 on 11.3.
I download the file from Linux_Downloads - VirtualBox and of course I choose Suse 11.3 package.

When I install it, and run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup it comes up with an error
    Stopping VirtualBox kernel module done
    Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module failed
(Look at /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong)

here is the output from /var/log/vbox-install.log

Makefile:162: Warning: using /usr/src/linux as the source directory of your Linux kernel. If this is not correct, specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again.

echo " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \

echo " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it."; \
    echo; \

    Can anyone help me please?

I think you need the kernel source package.

Then go to /usr/src/linux and run:
    'make oldconfig && make prepare'

Kernel-source, gcc, and make are definitely needed.
    I'm confused...No, wait...Maybe I'm not...

    zypper in kernel-source kernel-devel kernel-desktop-devel kernel-default-devel
    service vboxdrv setup

I already had kernel-source installed, but when I installed kernel-devel kernel-desktop etc. then /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup compiled just fine.
    everything works now, thank you
