Hi,
I’ve recently updated KDE SC to 4.5 (using the howto posted on omgsuse). At first I loved it ─ it’s faster, prettier and even more usable than before, but after some time I started having artifacts on my desktop (they weren’t there with 4.4.*). This is how they look like:

Restarting Plasma or Kwin doesn’t help ─ the only thing I can do is log out and log back in, which is kind of frustrating. And in time more and more artifacts appear. Has anyone had similar issues?
I’m on 11.3, using radeonhd on RS690, with compositing disabled. Never had any issues with KDE.

You have something of a mess, if that’s not too rude to say.
I can’t decide and I suspect you can’t either - what Desktop you want to use.
You have refresh off on several repos where I would expect it on. (Eg; #6, 21)
You should remove #18
Though Ideally we recommend just 4 repos (oss, non-oss, updates, packman), let’s say you decide to keep 5 and 6 as well both refreshing though. Then you run ‘zypper dup’ (without the quotes)
But I suspect this may already be too messy to remedy easily.
Well, what I did, was disabling old KDE repos (4.4 Core etc.) before updating to 4.5. As for the refresh settings, I never touch them, as I’m not exactly sure what they do ─ so what’s in there are the default settings that either zypper ar <repo> or one-click-installs applied to them.
Okay, I’ll see what distro-upgrade will do.
edit: And about the long list of repos ─ I’ve been recently trying LXDE and making some Fluxbox styles, that’s why they’re all there.
You need refresh on otherwise it will not update any changes in the packaging
oss and non-oss actually don’t need refresh because they never change, but I tend to leave them on anyway.
