Default KDE desktop vs. netbook edition

Hi, i have a silly question.
Can you theoretically run the notebook edition on your desktop? Or is it tailored to be run just on netbooks?
why would i like to do this? To have a very simple and purposeful desktop, but still have KDE running.
Not sure if that makes sense, but i hope it does.

I think you can. Never tried it though.

But you can only have one active desktop environment running at once but you can switch between multiple sessions.
