if it were me i’d just leave it, it doesn’t really take so much
space…but, if you wanna remove it the easiest and safest way is to
do it with yast…

go Software > Software Management, flip the “Filter” from “Search” to
“Patterns”, scroll to “Graphical Environments” section, UNcheck KDE
“Desktop Environment” and “KDE Base System”, then click on
“Accept”…then YaST may complain that it can’t remove all the
specified software because other programs need some of it…

if so, let YaST decide what to kepp or not…

Ok thanks.

But i made an error, when i installaed LXDE and remove KDE i forget to change the Window Manager, and infact I can only use Suse by terminal, who can I change it by terminal?

Thanks again.

Boot to level 3 and start Yast there then go to System > etc/sysconfig editor
Edit section Desktop > Display manager
and Desktop > Window manager

Boot to Level 3, then Yast and More…

How can i do it, i’ve got only the terminal?

Follow the guide which tells you how to get level 3
You need to reboot, add the number 3 to the boot line
login as user, become su, then start yast

Ok i’m there, i want to use LXDE and openbox what i’ve to write?

thanks.

Hang on.
Before you change anything there (I say this, because it shouldn’t matter what the settings are there)

I suspect you may have done something rather more serious - If you recall DenverD did warn you to just leave kde installed.

I actually think you will be better of re-installing just the desktop you want.

Assume you are root type

yast

in the terminal it will open the non-gui version of yast.

I’m reallyreally noob on opensuse, could you explain step to step how i can recall denverd.

Now i’ve got only LXDE i’m in this situation because i completely remove KDE.

So what i’ve to write to start with lxde?

I’m not sure what you need to type.
I don’t really use LXDE - I do have it installed in 11.4, but I login via the login screen and use the session button to switch to LXDE session.

If you are stuck at the prompt, what happened to your GUI login?

Why not re-install the kde4 pattern from Yast. So that will be boot to yast level 3, start software manager and view by Patterns and check to install kde4-base and kde4-desktop

Or from the command line as su, this should re-install kde:

zypper install -t pattern kde4 kde4_basis

Then if you still don’t get a UI login after reboot, just login with your user name and password and type: startx

DenverD is a person who answered your post.

Try “startx”.

right, i’m the one who advised him to just leave KDE on the machine…
