Question Problems using extra keys for launching applications

    Hello!

I own a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000 which I'm overall pleased with. The keyboard has some extra media and application launching keys which I try to assign in systemsettings>Input Actions. I believe the application is called khotkeys, however I'm not sure. I'm new to KDE. Four different cases occurred as follows:

    1. The keys are recognized and can be assigned a command to run. When settings are saved the specified application launches.
      Examples of keys that works:
      Code:
Physical key symbol : Recognized by khotkeys as : HEX code send by keyboard (obtained by showkeys)
Headphones : Tools : keycode 171 press, keycode 171 release
House : Home Page : keycode 172 press, keycode 172 release
All media keys (play/pause, next, prev, stop, vol-up, vol-down & mute)
    2. The keys are recognized and can be assigned a command, however, when settings are saved and the keys are pressed nothing happens.
Examples of keys that don't launch their assigned application:
      Code:
Physical key symbol : Recognized by khotkeys as : HEX code send by keyboard (obtained by showkeys)
      Calculator : Launch(1) : keycode 140 press, keycode 140 release
    3. The keys are not recognized at all.
      Example of such keys:
      Code:
Physical key symbol : Recognized by khotkeys as : HEX code send by keyboard (obtained by showkeys)
      1 : : keycode 184 press, keycode 184 release
      2 : : keycode 185 press, keycode 185 release
      MSN/IM : : keycode 216 press, keycode 216 release
    4. The keys are not supported by QT. When I try to use them I get a popup with "The key you just pressed is not supported by QT."
      Example of such keys:
      Code:
Physical key symbol : Recognized by khotkeys as : HEX code send by keyboard (obtained by showkeys)
Go back : (never shown) : keycode 131 press, keycode 131 release
New file : (never shown) : keycode 62 press, keycode 62 release

I'm interested in solving chase 2 and 3. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
