    I'm not sure what you need to type.
    I don't really use LXDE - I do have it installed in 11.4, but I login via the login screen and use the session button to switch to LXDE session.

    If you are stuck at the prompt, what happened to your GUI login?

    Why not re-install the kde4 pattern from Yast. So that will be boot to yast level 3, start software manager and view by Patterns and check to install kde4-base and kde4-desktop

    Or from the command line as su, this should re-install kde:

    Code:
    zypper install -t pattern kde4 kde4_basis
    Then if you still don't get a UI login after reboot, just login with your user name and password and type: startx

    Try "startx".

    right, i'm the one who advised him to just leave KDE on the machine..
    sure would have saved a lot of trouble..
