    Default confused again

i'm trying to find a thread i participated in within the last ten days
or so, but don't remember much about where it was or what i
wrote...so, i go to my profile
    <http://forums.opensuse.org/members/denverd.html> and click on "Find
all posts" (left side) and see that there are none shown after 16
    July, i wonder why?

i can guess that part of the ongoing problems of the latest to/from
nntp-web forum software is not getting nntp posts into a place where
they can be found correctly by the profile page's "Find all posts"..

and, i wonder if that is somehow related to the deathly pause users
get if trying to use that search while not signed in (by the way, i
don't see any of my post since 16 July, when searching while signed in)

i hope that all gets worked out along with the twice an hour
sweep...which really slows down answers flowing to users..

sometimes progress that is measured by how it looks turns out to be no
progress at all...and, i think this is one such case...as far as i can
see we (the Community) gained nothing worthwhile in this latest forum
software upgrade, but we lost a lot.....on the other hand it kinda
matches the 'upgrade' to the wiki..

    ymmv

there are many more than five pages...the point i made is that it
    returns *none* since 16-Jul-2010 21:27..

that is, shows none from today, yesterday etc etc to the 16th...see now?

ok, then someone please help me understand why you can, but i can't
find any posts after 16 July (after clicking the "Find all posts"
    button on my profile page
    <http://forums.opensuse.org/members/denverd.html>)..

see this CET time stamped image, just taken (showing a 16 July message
    as the latest):

    http://www.imagebam.com/image/7d691b90466327

are you saying the openSUSE server is providing the newer post to you
and all, but my firefox is not rendering it....or, my router is not
delivering it....or, my ISP is filtering it out...or, what could be
    the possible hitch?

rule out a firefox problem: i get the same 16 July message as the
    newest in Opera also..

Try via an anonymous proxy. Your IP will come from a different IP, or even different country.

One thing I noticed while looking into this is that if you fill out the
advanced search form, the results are sorted by relevance rather than by
    date by default.

You might try changing that and see if you get a different result.

That said, apparently there are a number of people using vBulletin 4 who
have reported problems with search to the developers - and those known
issues are being looked into. So again we'd have to ask for patience
while those who wrote the code investigate and fix the known and reported
    issues.
