Default What is plugin-containe and why is it bogging down my computer?

What is this (from the command "top")?

    Code:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

    2522 MyUser 20 0 298m 125m 25m S 18.9 9.0 106:07.76 plugin-containe
I assume it's really "plugin-container" but what is it? I've used firefox with flash running for years and never had this issue before. What is this? My computer's running really slow right now.

    According to Mozilla:
In Firefox 3.6.4 and above, some plugins are loaded separately from Firefox in plugin-container, allowing the main Firefox process to stay open if a plugin crashes.
I think you can turn it off in about:config. Search for dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.libflashplayer.so and dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.libnptest.so and set its value to false. Hope that would solve it.

    Good luck.
